Company History

The story so far...

In September 2002, Pure Resourcing Solutions was established in Histon, near Cambridge. The aim of the business was to provide temporary, permanent and executive Accountancy recruitment services to commercial, professional and public sector customers across East Anglia.

The founders of the company, Ian Walters, Lynn Walters and Gill Buchanan, recognised a gap in the market for an independent, niche agency which focused on providing a quality recruitment service by building long-term, in-depth relationships with clients and candidates.

As an independent company, we can tailor our services to the needs of individual customers. Our objective is to build long-term, in-depth relationships with clients and candidates alike. It's something of a mission for us to see that organisations in the region get to draw on the best possible reservoir of talent, whether it's local, regional or national.

In September 2004, our Norwich office was launched by Joseph O’Sullivan and Tina Maguire. We were quickly establishing a reputation as an innovative recruiter which delivered a high-quality service. High-profile preferred supplier agreements were secured with local organisations, including Norwich Union, and we organised a number of high-profile events, including an HR seminar which addressed the issues of flexible working in today's workplace.

By July 2005, the Cambridge business had expanded further and, with an established team of experienced consultants on board headed up by Gill, we moved into our own purpose-built premises in Histon, Cambridge. This einforced our brand and gave our team an even stronger sense of identity.

All our senior consultants are highly experienced professionals in their fields, with specialist knowledge of particular sectors of the employment market. Above all, they know how to listen. This explains why many of the candidates we place become clients in their own right, and why much of our business growth comes from existing clients and referrals.

In March 2006, we launched our third office in Ipswich with Jodie Abbott as Office Manager. And in June 2006 positive feedback from clients who had enjoyed our resourceful and consultative approach, led to us launching Office and Human Resources recruitment divisions, focusing on recruiting temporary and permanent PA, secretarial, administrative and human resources positions. This is now headed up by Caroline Batchelor in the Cambridge office.

February 2008 saw the launch of our Peterborough office to compliment our existing offices in Cambridge, Norwich and Ipswich. David Culley moved across from our Cambridge office and has recruited a strong team to work alongside him.  Our core recruitment areas remain as; Accountancy, Office Support, Human Resources and Executive.

In April 2008, we successfully rolled out our new company branding and revamped website. With our network of offices across East Anglia and some 28 consultants in the business, we remain committed to delivering a quality-based, open, honest and innovative service by adding value to the recruitment process and working in partnership with the local business community.

Due to the success of our Executive Recruitment team, we will be expanding further in this area in 2008 with the recruitment of an additional consultant to work alongside Lynn.

In the six years we have been operating we have raised money for our chosen local charity, the East Anglian Children's Hospice (EACH). Please see our charity page for the current amount. We have used our business network to promote EACH and fundraise on its behalf by organising a number of client fundraising events.

But this is not where our story ends...
